Sublimation Printing
What is Sublimation?
Sublimation refers to the process where a substance transitions directly from a solid to a gas phase, without becoming a liquid first. This is a phase transition, like melting or boiling, but involves skipping the liquid stage. The sublimation ink then embeds itself into the polyester fabric, dyeing it, or the mug, or the mouse pad, or any other polymer-coated media.
This means that your transferred design is not an additional layer on top of the garment; instead the garment has now been "dyed", so there’s no difference in the "feel" of the material. This also means that "sublimation" is incredibly durable, and under normal conditions, the images you produce will last as long as the product itself.
What can we sublimate?
Just about any product you want to print your design or logo, we can custom design it for you. We offer a variety of products: tumblers, mugs, signs, key chains, luggage tags, bookmarks, dogtag chains, coasters, and the list continues to grow. Sublimated products, however, are specially coated, so not just any product will work. We know what works best, so we can quickly provide you with your products.
Even Apparel!
Sublimation works perfectly on garments, as well. However, again, it does require a specific blend. Cotton shirts, such as our Gildan 5000, will not work. Sublimation printing works best on shirts made of 100% polyester or high polyester blends (65% or greater). These fabrics allow the sublimation ink to bond with the fibers, creating a vibrant and durable print
